I have a suggestion for a new rule:

All trail workers must be able to ride the trail that is being worked on, on the trail work day, if they can't ride it then they will not be able to work on that trail.

This will do one of two things:

1) Close trails like Gatorback and Monscape for lack of "qualified" help.

2) Bring some of the Elite SB peeps out to work on trails they seem to love ( or at least love talking about)

I suspect that if this new rule is adapoted, the few that can ride those two trails will quit in disgust due to the lack of qualified help.

PS. no I won't be there this weekend ( wife/family duty ), but I will be there the next time.

Enjoy the ride!  ;D

too extreme rrp... this means I can't come to any workday now since I can't ride any trail worth beans....  :'(

I know you are being funny but the guilt trip to get more volunteers has never worked.  Been there, done that.. only backfires...

And people wonder why I (and likely many others) do not volunteer to help...

True..

I just feel bad watching how hard people work out there when many of them might not even ride the trails being worked.

PS. Contrary to your name ( SP ) we know you gots skills.

It was nice meeting everyone today. This was my first time volunteering and it really put a perspective on how much sweat it takes just to keep these trails maintained. It was awesome to ride Gator after we finished. -Nat

I just want to give a shout out to Jeff and the rest of the trail crew for working on gatorback.

And a special thanks to Jeff for his overall vision and teaching us some trail building skills at the same time.  I personally appreciate you giving your time to make a special trail day for the advanced trails.

A really big THANKS to all 10 volunteers who contributed 54 hours of muscle, sweat and time today at Alafia.

This special work day was dedicated to Gatorback maintenance. Nine of us made one climb and two drops safe and still challenging to ride. Much time was spent on drainage control to ensure a sustainable trail - taking more time now but much less long term maintenance. Several ended with a better understanding of the time it takes to maintain double black diamond trails.

Thanks to Alicia Diem who power trimmed nearly all of RollerCoaster.

Our volunteers today:
Aaron Gramley, Alicia Diem, Bruce Kaczmarek, Carie Pigeon, Jeff White, Karen Warnert, Mike Cunningham, Nat Pinheiro, Rich Gramley, Robert Lucio

Together we build superior, sustainable trail systems.
Thank you, Jeff White
