I drank the koolaide
« on: November 16, 2010, 07:06:07 PM »
I decided to ad a 29er to my stable and bought an Inbred On-one frame. If anyone is looking to sell a wheelset, and 80mm or 100mm suspension fork give me a holla.

those are good frames.  if you go single speed, make sure you get yourself a good chain tensioner/adjuster so you can easily switch cogs.

Why you don't like horizontal drop outs?  There are at least two types.  The ones with open ends like on this frame and the ones with close end.  I never had the open end ones but love the close end ones.

Murf,
You may want to spend some time/money one extra drop out options for that frame once you know how you going to run it (geared, ss....)  http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FSOOSWAP/on-one-swapout-replaceable-dropout

I actually didnt give much thought to the sliding dropouts. i pretty much choose the frame becuase it was steel and also the geometry. and a pretty good deal 249.00.  in the 16" frame it has a lower weight, a great standover height for me with 29" wheels, but still keeps a fairly long effective top tube (22.9") . with the lower seat tube, longish top tube, and showing a little extra seat post i feel like i should have tons of room. plus i like the clean looks of the disc tabs. Are there any negatives to running a horizontal dropout frame as a 1x9.

Also try the Redline tensioners.  They are cheap and work well (I haven't had a problem with them in the three years I've had the bike).

Nice choice on frames.  Can't wait to see it.  Don't see many On One frames around here.

I missed the part where he said it was a 1x9.  29 is a fad anyways.  By the time he gets the parts together the bike will be obsolete.  ;)
