The ignitor will be more forgiving of rider error, the Koz will roll a little easier. Just to throw another wrench into the system, check out the specialized Captain. Due to it's large block side knobs, it corners better than the Koz and thanks to its continuous center knobs rolls better than the Ignitor. All that being said $21.99 for that Michelin I mentioned earlier is a no brainer, it is perfect for our local condition :)

Ok guys... after taking a break and coming back to tires... Got it down to 2 now.

Kozmik Lite II's 26x2.00 @ 452g  VS. Maxxis Ignitor 26x2.10 @ 510g.  I've been reading around, seems the Ignitor is a bit more aggressive than the kozmik. I like the weight reduction of the kozmiks, but I'm a bit scared from all the pinch flat stories, and slippery traction. Might error on the safe side and do the Ignitors F&R in a 2.10. Looking at the tread design, I'd honestly feel more comfortable riding the ignitors.  I'm pretty good about looking at a tire and figuring out how it will work for the application. For the past 5yrs I've been playing with 4x4's. Rock crawling, mud, sand, street etc.  So I'll sleep on it for a few days and keep reading what you guys have to say being you have way more actual experience with these tires than I do... But if nothing sways me... I'll drop the hammer on Wed Evening to get a set.
The Kendas are a nice light weight tire.  Handles well under most conditions.  The Ignitors handle well under more conditions and a little stronger side wall.  Depends on the type of riding you'll do most.  Also look at the WTB Weirwolves for an aggressive light tire.

if you run them tubeless with Stan's you will not have to worry about pinch flats... Hey, why am I the one saying that?

I've never ran a tubeless bike tire before....  Not even sure if my current wheels would work with tubeless tires.  I checked out the Michelins and the Specialized tires. I'll read up on them a bit more later tonight.  Tread pattern looks decent.

you need to go to the no tubes web site and look at the videos and check out the crow and the raven. the kenda kosmic lite II is my third choice. there are very few riders in the club that ride the level of the stans tires, you have to be serious about your riding and level of understanding. once you try a lightweight tire (one that is under 500 grams), then you will never ride a 2 pound tire again. once you try a crow 2.0 in the rear and a raven 2.2 in the front, then you will not ride the kosmic. experience will guide you. wathc the stans videos on the no tubes web site. you will believe.

Thanks for the input guys.  keep it coming.  looks like a good "light" weight 26x2.10 tire is low 500g to 800g's.  Wonder what my stock Kenda tires weigh... heck I don't even know what model tires they are.  Check that out tonight after work.

As for the SB8/Nevegal setup.  Seems like the SB8 is a drive tire and the Nevegal or whatever has more bite and direction for a steer wheel.

This sunday at trout creek, Humberto led the group, then Art was behind him, then Alex, then Mike, then myself, then Kevin, etc...., Kevin moved in front of me when Mike dropped out. Better question..... Can either of you keep up with Alex?
