if we park at lot #1, do we need to go to fire tower for a pay envelope first?? i'm scared of getting towed or something like that while i'm miles out into the beautiful wilderness. i haven't tried the blue trails and want to when i go next (today)

No you do not.  The only time you pay for parking is when you actually park in the #3 parking area.
No charge for parking in the #1 or #2 lots.

Make sure you bring a riding partner to Croom.  That's not the place to ride alone.
